We hope to welcome you back again soon.

We booked Sea Gem due to its location to where my parents and brother and brother in law where staying with plans to spend Christmas with them at their house. Unfortunately Covid hit their house the day after we arrived and my parents ended up having to go home. So although we didn’t plan Christmas Day at Sea gem, we spent a fabulous week there and managed to knock up a last minute Christmas dinner too. The house was so homely and comfortable with enough space for our three children. There are gorgeous views of the sea, Penzance and a favourite of mine, Jubilee Pool. I loved the window seats in the bay windows where you could sit and read or watch the lights of Newlyn and Penzance. We have stayed in Newlyn several times now but we were so glad to have Sea Gem as our own space for the week. Even though we were unable to spend time with the rest of our family over the Christmas period, our stay was made so much easier. We were very happy to spend much more time in the house than we originally planned. It just felt so comfortable. We enjoyed daily walks to either Mousehole, Newlyn and Penzance (several times!) The children loved the arcades, and we loved the local pub and also discovered great cocktails in The Artist Residence. We walked at Godrevy and I even swam in the sea on Christmas Day! We would definitely recommend Sea Gem to any of our family and friends and we would love to stay there again. Jane, the host was great at communicating with us, both before we arrived and once we got there too. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back soon!

We have just enjoyed a week at Jane’s lovely house in Newlyn. The beds are all comfortable with lovely linen. Everything we needed in the kitchen/breakfast room. Comfortable living room with two sofas and a great tv. All areas were very clean and nicely decorated. Fantastic location for anyone attending a course at the Newlyn School of Art. Great pubs, restaurants and shops nearby. Jane even put a Christmas tree up for us which was very thoughtful. We would definitely stay again.

Sea Gem certainly lives up to its name. We had a great week. Newlyn is an interesting, friendly place and we loved exploring the narrow streets as we walked up and down. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable. I loved looking out every morning from the window seat to Penzance and the bay. The art college is just around the corner so ideal for attending a course. Great places to eat and I can thoroughly recommend it .

Christine Riley,

We spent 5 days at Sea Gem coming from the Isle of Skye. Lovely area with a great view of the sea front from the top of the hill. Clean, well equipped and spacious. Street parking not to bad, got parked most days outside the house, but a warning if not used to very narrow streets! Would recommend Sea Gem.

Karen ,

Fresh clean, comfortably everything you need for weekend break, comfy beds, lovely hot bath and pleasant sea view

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Gem. The house was lovely and well equipped. It was in a perfect location, in a quiet road and with easy parking. It was particularly well located for Newlyn Art School which was a two minute walk away. Communication with Jane was excellent.

Just spent a super week in this well situated, clean, fully equipped and lovely house. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding area and a few minutes walk to the seafront at Newlyn and along the lovely dog friendly promenade to Penzance. The main restaurants and pubs in Newlyn are very close by and were very good.! Sea Gem is highly recommended for a great break.

Beautiful and extremely comfortable cottage. Everything you could need for your holiday. Crisp, clean bedding and towels supplied. Brilliant location for visiting lots of fab places, Penzance, St Ives, Mousehole, Sennen Cove, Lands End and more. Trengwainton Gardens (National Trust) worth a visit. Newlyn Beach is walkable but be prepared for a steep climb back! Would recommend without hesitation.

Had a fantastic weeks stay at Sea Gem! Perfectly placed for walking along the seafront through Newlyn and onto Penzance, as well as being a great location to drive to other places, st ives, mousehole, lands end, minnack theatre. Really helpful recommendations in the folder in the house. Our first time visiting thia area and we loved it, busy days out and a lovely homely place to rest in the evenings. Highly recommended!

Lovely house in a great location for exploring the South West Peninsula of Cornwall.

We had a lovely time in Jane and Howard holiday home. Newlyn is a lovely fishing harbour and the location was great to get to many places. We did some lovely walk s with family and 2 dogs.
The choice of pubs snd restaurants was great and if you like seafood and fish, the mackerel fish bar would definitely recommend. We have booked another break there we enjoyed it so much! 😊

Debbie Haden,

Sea Gem is a fabulous base for exploring Penzance and surrounding area. It is clean and well equipped with everything needed for a comfy stay. Jane is a great host and was quick to reply to any questions or queries. We would definitely book again if travelling to the area in the future.

Perfect and easy communication with Jane. The house was exactly as described, clean tidy and provided us with everything we could have needed. Very close to the centre of Newlyn which has plenty of very good places to eat and drink, and a lovely walk across the promenade into Penzance. thoroughly recommend!

We were near to the harbour, wonderful fishmongers and good restaurants. We could also pick up the coast path in both directions and the bus to go further afield. A great location and the house had every amenity too! Highly recommended.

We had a perfect stay. Jane was really helpful and great at communicating and helping out when asked. The accommodation was brilliant and included everything we needed, and perfectly positioned for exploring Cornwall. We would highly recommend.

We just had a fabulous week in seagem,
Beautifully presented house & well equipped & super comfy beds & lovely bedding & crisp & spotlessly clean & Beautiful views of the sea ,fabulous hosts with excellent communications .
Would happily booked again at a later date 🙂
Thanks again xx

Jo Paddon,

The house has been carefully prepared for visitors, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Large white fluffy towels and smooth ironed sheets on the beds, what a luxury. I slept so well that I even looked for the make of mattress so I can buy one for myself at home. If you are taking an art course at the Newlyn art school, it is perfect as it is literally around the corner! Tip, I left my car parked in their car park and walked back as parking is tight on the streets around Newlyn.

A lovely place to stay - very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Experienced our first ever Pagan Festival on May 1st, got sunburned one day and needed winter woollies the next! Fabulous walks from the house on the South Coast Path and easy access to places further afield: Lands End, Sennen Cove, Bottallack, Marazion. Super location for exploring. Thankyou for letting us use your house!

Olwen ,

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The house was gorgeous and in a nice location! Very clean and well kept and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay with a toddler and a puppy to go with it! Would definitely stay there again next time we brave the 7 hour car journey.”

Thank you Jane, your house is absolutely amazing, perfect for holidays but homely and exceptionally well equipped. The views and the light throughout the house are fantastic addition, allowed us to enjoy every minute of the trip.

We were very comfortable in Jane's little gem of a house. Coming back windswept and wet from days out to nearby Land's End, St Ives, our favourite Porthcurno or other lovely places, it was like coming back to your own warm, dry and comfortable home. The fishing village of Newlyn is full of character with it's narrow, steep streets (you certainly get fit walking up from the harbour) and has lovely looking restaurants and pubs - we tried the Red Lion and a very family friendly (and delicious!) Italian/tapas place called The Bridge. Fish and Chips are also amazing and, like all the fish in the area, freshly caught from Newlyn.

We loved our stay at Janes. Jane was excellent at answering any questions we had, and was very responsive. The property was lovely, just the right size for us (a family of 2 adults and 2 children) and was very clean throughout. It was just the little getaway we needed in these times of uncertainty, we will be back.

Sea gem is a lovely home, perfect for visiting Newlyn and the surrounding area. The house is warm and welcoming, we very quickly felt at home.

It was like being home from home. The house was so clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable! We couldn't fault anything and it was an ideal location to go exploring.

Exactly as described. Would recommend.

Jane’s house is absolutely fantastic; beautiful interior (we loved all the different fabrics chosen) and has everything you could want. The beds were so comfortable; we all slept better than we do at home! Location was great too; stunning views from the property and only a short walk to a super choice of restaurants, pubs, shops etc. We loved staying and will definitely be returning. Thanks

This truly is a 'gem' of a place. It is located in a quiet street, with beautiful views over Mounts Bay. The house is bright and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is spacious and well equiped, with a small outside area. You can see from the detail that this is a cared for holiday home and provdes an excellent base to explore Newlyn and the surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay immensly and can't wait to return. Highly recommended!
